Great Brant Lake Canoe Race

See you August 10, 2024 for the 5th annual race!
6 miles of Adirondack Paddling!
This race originally began in the 1970s and was run by local community volunteers. The event is open to canoes, kayaks, & SUP with categories for each.
Paddlers are encouraged to preregister online! Day of registration will be from 7:15 am-8:15 am at The Horicon Community Center. Registrations and packet pickup will also be available the day before (August 11) 5:30pm – 7:30pm at Food Truck Fridays.
The race will start at 9:30am on Hilton Beach on Palisades Road! Paddlers will begin at the north end of the lake and paddle 6 miles until they reach Horicon Town Beach and Horicon Town Community Center.
The race will start rain or shine ~ be prepared for Adirondack weather!
Please Note: Paddlers are responsible for their own transportation before and after race. Due to limited parking at the start, paddlers are encouraged to park at the finish and find a shuttle to the start. There will be some parking at the start of the race.

- Friday, August 11
- 4:00 pm – Paddle Clinic at The Hub
- 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm – Packet/number pick up at Food Truck Fridays
- Saturday, August 12
- 7:15 am-8:15 am: Registration/packet pickup Horicon Community Center
- 9:00 am – Paddler Meeting at start of race
- 9:30 am – Race Start
- 12:00 pm – Awards Ceremony
- 1:00 pm – Kids’ Scavenger Hunt
- 1:00 pm – “The Gnarly Gerbil” MTB Scavenger Hunt – Find the hidden Gnarly Gerbil, on the Brant Lake Bike Park trails, to win a special item! (Prizes available for the first 20 finishers)
- 3:00 pm – Music and Afterparty at The Hub
- All Day – Self guided Brant Lake lookout hike (Bartonville Mountain) at The Hub
